A single-car accident left a Golden woman, 27, severely injured after her vehicle rolled down an embankment and landed in a creek in Rock Mountain National Park.
The accident, which happened on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m., temporarily closed down Bear Lake Road in the park. According to park officials, the vehicle landed on its wheels.
The unidentified woman was transported by air ambulance to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Fort Collins. She was extricated from her vehicle by Estes Park rescue workers.
The cause of the accident is unclear and under investigation. The woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
