Texting and driving is only dangerous if someone else is doing it. That appears to be the attitude of a lot of drivers. In recent survey by the National Highway and Safety Administration (NHTSA), 95 percent of drivers thought texting and driving is dangerous. Nevertheless, 35 percent of those drivers admitted to texting while driving in the preceeding month.

The results for talking on the cellphone were similar. About 88 percent agreed talking on a cellphone while driving is dangerous, yet 65 percent admitted to using the cellphone while driving in the previous month.

If that’s not enough to give pause for thought, check out this video of a bus driver apparently texting while driving in New Jersey. YIKES!
